THE HUTTON WEEKLY GAZETTE: ROCKS, REBUYS, AND REVENUE IN THE BUBBLE

Welcome back, Truckers, to another standard week of cosmic madness, where the lasers were hot, the mining lasers were hotter, and the local Apex taxi drivers earned enough tip money to retire on Earth. Out in the deep black, our intrepid cartographers and exobiologists were out in full force. CMDR InnerBushman took the scenic route all the way to Sagittarius A* while cataloguing neutron stars and Earth-like worlds, while CMDRs Cylus Scratcher Resi, Servalan, Körssi, and Turd_Blossom spent days scanning exotic alien flora and mapping endless ring systems. Meanwhile, back in populated space, CMDR A Salty BStard and CMDR EntariusFusion turned HIP 100449 into Swiss cheese, prospecting every rock in sight for high-grade Platinum and Painite until the local asteroids practically begged for mercy.

Naturally, you cannot have a week in the galaxy without a staggering amount of shield collapse, hull repair bills, and frantic insurance claims. CMDR Raijin Cajun set a new record for being interdicted and attacked in virtually every system known to humanity, seemingly treating incoming plasma fire as ambient background noise. CMDR Chooklefook endured a continuous, apocalyptic wall of laser fire in Gendalla, while CMDR Joe Tenebrian had their shields severely stress-tested across San Mathaa and HIP 51874. Sadly, space remains an unforgiving workplace: CMDRs Ka D'Argo, Noddie, and Beetlejude all faced the dreaded rebuy screen after fierce firefights, while CMDR A Salty BStard decided the quickest fix for a bad day was to personally slap the big red self-destruct button.

On the logistical front, our commanders proved that no amount of danger will stop a Trucker from turning in a contract. CMDRs Taren Capel, KAPPA CHI, and COUNT NUGGEt kept the Apex Interstellar cab service floating with endless mission hand-ins. Massive congratulations are in order for CMDR Count Nugget on achieving Federal Post Commander, CMDR KAPPA CHI for hitting Dangerous in combat before snapping up a sleek new Corsair, and CMDR Chooklefook for rising all the way to Federal Admiral. Shiny new vessels were christened, including CMDR Argon Tanais stepping into a grand new Lynx Highliner named Wind Star, while CMDRs Kesinik_ and TAO ZEE burned through enough engineering materials to keep the local workshop engineers wealthy for a decade.

Finally, we tip our mugs to the brave souls keeping the true Hutton tradition alive by braving the long supercruise stretches. CMDR Hardy, CMDR Boggratt, and CMDR cor badger all completed successful Hutton Runs this week, proving once again that patience, lukewarm coffee, and a total disregard for time management are the core virtues of our fleet. Whether you are cracking cores in the rings, dodging pirate interdictions, or hauling construction supplies to build new outposts, keep those thrusters warm and your fuel scoops primed. Until next week, remember to check your rebuys, watch your cargo scans, and as always, fly dangerously, commanders!

Better Stats, Safer Backups, Fewer Surprises

This week we gave the stats pages a proper upgrade. The new Global Leaderboards are now available to anyone signed in, with Trading, Mining, Exploration and Exobiology categories. Pick a stat and you can see its leaders across today, this week, this month, this year and all time—making it easier to compare both recent activity and long-term achievements.

We also made sure the boards don’t leave your other commanders behind. The top five are shown, along with every verified commander linked to your account, wherever they rank. If one hasn’t recorded any activity for a particular stat yet, they still appear with zero. That makes the results more complete and avoids a leaderboard that quietly hides someone just because they haven’t traded, mined or explored recently.

Behind the scenes, we’ve started moving some combat stats away from the big catch-all event record and into records shaped specifically for those stats. That gives us a cleaner foundation for current leaderboards—and, importantly, creates room to revisit metrics that have been marked “not tracked yet” and decide whether we can calculate them reliably.

A lot of the time was taken up implementing a backup strategy. We're not saying your data is safe, but it's been upgraded from about as safe as an anarchy system run by pirates to about as safe as 20km from a station's no fire zone ... you're not going to lose too much if you can boost to safety quickly enough!

CG News: Brewer Corporation Jump Satellite Initiative

Last week’s CG was a great success, completing in under 72 hours in the early hours of Sunday morning. 200,000,158 units were collected by 11,815 contributors and the rewards are now available to be transferred to an Outfitting in any station of choice for just 100 credits. There is no Outfitting on the Megaship Zero Squared so unable to be collected there.

These satellites, which are a highly modified version of the nav beacon, will emit signals that fleet carriers can target and use to park in systems with no or very few planets, avoiding bottlenecks in systems such as those near Rackham's Peak.

Zachary Rackham welcomed the initiative and thanked those taking part, stating that it was "about time that Brewer solved this problem that prevented more visitors arriving at the very top of the galaxy!"

The satellites will begin deployment to the HD 105341 system in the near future, expanding carrier capacity close to Rackham’s Peak.
